Sustainable Building Apprentice
Azure is looking for a few extra hands this spring and summer to help out on a fun project at the farm. We are planning to renovate the front of our old warehouse into Azure Standard company headquarters, using sustainable building practices that better represent who Azure is.
The goal is to turn this area into an example of beautiful architecture using natural building methods, such as: Thin shell concrete and papercrete with some of the main ingredients being soil right off the farm as well as waste paper generated from the business.

So if you would like to gain experience in natural building methods like this in an apprenticeship role, rather than paying for class time; and would like to be a part of this project, let us know. Your mentors will be Azure’s engineer/architect Benjamin Brewer and master craftsman David Brown. Apprentices can expect to come away from the project with a good understanding of thin shell concrete architecture, framing and application of ferrocement, papercrete and stucco.
Apprentices will have a place to bunk with kitchen and home amenities. They will be expected to work normal 40 hour weeks, with odd work times periodically as weather may require some early morning or late night work. A negotiable stipend will be given for food and basic living requirements.

- Had some metal fabricating experience
- Concrete finishing/working experience
- Good with heights
